So, sit back, relax, and get ready for an unforgettable summer holiday experience!

Accessibility

Zakynthos is a relatively small island that is easily accessible by air, with the International Airport Dionysios Solomos being the main entry point for visitors. The airport is conveniently located only 20 minutes away from the capital and other touristic areas like Lagana, Tsivili, and Kalamaki. From the airport, you can get to your hotel in three ways: by taxi, bus, or car. There is one airport bus that goes from the airport to Zakynthos town, and tickets can be purchased from the bus driver for around 5 euros. However, if you want to go by bus to your hotel, you will need to swap buses in order to get to your final destination.

Generally, getting around in Zakynthos is quite easy. The island is not that big, and if you don't want to rent a car, you can use both taxi and buses. However, speaking from our own experiences, renting a car is the best option as you don't need to depend on public transport and can go wherever and whenever you want because some villages that are located further away are reachable by bus, but there might be a long waiting time.

Where to stay?

When it comes to where to stay in Zakynthos for vacation, there are plenty of options that cater to different needs and preferences. For those who are looking for a more lively and vibrant atmosphere, the town of Laganas is the perfect choice with its numerous clubs, bars, and nightlife.

If you're seeking a more relaxed holiday, areas such as Tsilivi, Kalamaki or Argassi offer a quieter atmosphere with beautiful beaches, cozy restaurants and cafés. Families may want to consider areas such as Alykes or Alykanas, which offer a wide range of activities for children and families and are generally quieter than some of the busier tourist areas. Overall, there is no shortage of options for accommodations in Zakynthos, and you are sure to find the perfect spot for your vacation.

What it has to offer

The last couple of years Zakynthos became a very popular tourist destination with plenty of things to offer. The island has some of the most stunning beaches and all of them offer a different experience. From the breathtaking cliffs of Porto Limnionas to the famous Navagio beach with its shipwreck, you will find plenty of natural beauty to explore. One of the must visit places is Marathonisi island where you might even spot sea turtles if you are lucky.

For those looking for nightlife, Laganas is the place to be, with a vibrant atmosphere especially popular among students and clubbers. Alternatively, Zakynthos town offers a more casual nightlife scene with cozy bars and restaurants. Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday or a fun-filled party scene, Zakynthos has something for everyone.
